160408-N-BH414-168 ATLANTIC OCEAN (April 8, 2016) Sailors welcome Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 2nd Class Stephen Vaiza back to the ship on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), the flagship of the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, upon Vaiza’s return to duty after he received treatment for injuries sustained during the March 18th flight deck mishap. Ike is underway conducting a Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group in preparation for a future deployment.
