(Mar. 21, 2016) Sailors from Deck department aboard USS Bataan (LHD 5) lower the Landing Craft Personnel Large (LCPL) in preparation for receiving Assault Amphibious Vehicles (AAV) into the ships well deck. The AAV is the primary amphibious troop transport for the United States Marines. Bataan is currently underway conduction routine qualifications in preparation for her future deployments.
