Eisenhower (CVN 69), the flagship of the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, pilots an F/A-18E Super Hornet assigned to the Sidewinders of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 86 as it undergoes pre-flight checks on the ship’s flight deck. Ike is underway conducting a Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group in preparation for a future deployment.
