160310-N-OO032-005 SILVERDALE, Wash. (March 10, 2016) - Capt. Tom Zwolfer, a Wood Dale, Illinois, native and Naval Base Kitsap (NBK) commanding officer, and NBK Emergency Operations Center (EOC) personnel are recognized as NBK is designated StormReady by Ted Buehner, a warning coordination meteorologist with the National Weather Service (NWS). NBK is the first naval installation in the Pacific Northwest to receive the designation. Being StormReady allows an installation to be informed with real time updates for inclement weather.
