160310-N-KB426-114 POHANG, Republic of Korea (March 10, 2016) An amphibious assault vehicle attached to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (31st MEU), arrives on shore after departing the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48). Ashland is assigned to the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group (BHRESG) and is participating in Ssang Yong 16 a biennial combined amphibious exercise designed to strengthen interoperability and working relationships across a wide range of military operations from disaster relief to complex expeditionary operations.
