John Richardson looks over a recruit berthing locker in the USS Hopper ship barracks at Recruit Training Command (RTC). Richardson and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) Mike Stevens toured RTC facilities, including the Navy’s largest simulator, USS Trayer (BST 21), a 210-foot-long replica of an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer, recruits use for their final training evolutions, known as Battle Stations, before graduating from the Navy’s only boot camp.
