160212-N-RM689-261 GULF OF THAILAND (Feb. 12, 2016) - Sailors assigned to amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) operate a 7-meter open cabin rigid hull inflatable boat (RHIB) off the coast of Thailand as part of an amphibious capabilities demonstration in support of Cobra Gold (CG) 16. Ashland is assigned to the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group, and is participating in exercise CG 16, a Thai-U.S. co-sponsored multinational joint exercise designed to advance regional security by exercising a robust multinational force from nations sharing common goals and security commitments in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
