171216-N-UJ449-122 PORTLAND, Ore. (Dec 16, 2017) Machinery Repairman 1st Class Richard Sanchez, assigned to the submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40), renders a hand salute at the grave of a fallen military member after placing a wreath on it as part of a Wreaths Across America ceremony at Willamette National Cemetery. Wreaths Across America is a program set up to place wreaths on fallen military members graves during the holiday season to show remembrance and honor for their sacrifice. Frank Cable is currently completing a dry-dock phase maintenance availability. The ship will get underway soon for sea trials, which constitutes the final determination of a ship’s ability to re-join the fleet as an operational unit to conduct maintenance and support submarines and surface vessels deployed to the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
