171127-N-TR141-0218 SAIPAN (Nov. 27, 2017) An U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician, assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 5, fast-ropes into an abandoned mall from an U.S. Navy MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25 during an insertion and hostage rescue exercise in Saipan. EODMU 5 conducts mine countermeasures, counter-improvised explosive device operations, renders safe explosive hazards and disarms underwater explosives such as mines.
