Rhonda Wallace (right), a family medicine physician embarked on the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20), records a patient's symptoms with the assistance of a volunteer translator in a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services medical tent on the pier in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Comfort is moored pier side in San Juan to provide humanitarian relief. The Department of Defense is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
