171026-N-MC499-012 CARIBBEAN SEA (Oct. 26, 2017) MH-60S Sea Sea Hawk helicopters transfer pallets of supplies from the dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Robert E. Peary (T-AKE 5) to the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) during a replenishment-at-sea to enable continuing operations in Puerto Rico as the hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20) transits nearby. Kearsarge and Comfort are assisting with relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. The Department of Defense is supporting FEMA, the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
