171016-N-QE566-011 PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii (Oct. 16, 2017) Sailors man the rails of the guided-missile destroyer USS Halsey (DDG 97) as the ship departs Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam for a deployment. Halsey will join the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71), the flagship of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 9, along with the guided-missile cruiser USS Bunker Hill (CG 52) and the guided-missile destroyer USS Sampson (DDG 102) for a deployment to conduct maritime security, forward presence and theater security operations in the U.S. 7th and 5th Fleet areas of operation.
