171011-N-SZ865-031 CARIBBEAN SEA (Oct. 11, 2017) Aviation Ordnanceman 2nd Class Andrew Quick fires a shot line from the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) to the dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS William McLean (T-AKE 12) during a replenishment-at-sea to enable continuing operations in Puerto Rico. Kearsarge is assisting with relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. The Department of Defense is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
