171008-N-XN177-111 YOKOSUKA, Japan (October 8, 2017) The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62) leaves Dry Dock 4 at Fleet Activities Yokosuka to move to a new position pier-side in preparation for her upcoming transit to the U.S. to undergo further repairs and upgrades. Yokosuka provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands, and 24,000 military and civilian personnel.
