171007-N-LC642-037 ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 7, 2017) An F/A-18E Super Hornet, attached to the “Argonauts” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 147, lands on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68), as the 1,000th sortie during the current deployment, Oct. 7, 2017, in the Arabian Gulf. Nimitz is deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
