171006-N-VK310-0147 QUEBRADILLAS, Puerto Rico (Oct. 6, 2017) Marines assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (26th MEU), from the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3), attach a concrete barrier to an MH-53E Sea Dragon, assigned to the "Blackhawks" of Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron (HM-15), embarked aboard USS Wasp (LHD 1). HM-15 is helping to reinforce the Guajataca Dam in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico. The U.S. Navy and Marine Corps are assisting with relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. The Department of Defense is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
