171003-N-CW570-0793 TRINCOMALEE, Sri Lanka (Oct. 3, 2017) Seabees assigned to Underwater Construction Team (UCT) 2 and Sri Lankan navy divers detonate blocks of C-4 explosives for underwater demolition operations during the first-ever Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) at the Naval Base in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka. CARAT is an annual, bilateral maritime exercise series designed to boost interoperability between partner nations which contributes to regional security and stability by sharing best practices and cooperation in response to shared maritime security challenges.
