Churchill (DDG 81) and the USS Mitscher (DDG 57) are moored in Faslane, Scotland, during exercise Formidable Shield (FS) 2017. FS-17 is a U.S. 6th Fleet-led, Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO-conducted exercise which will improve allied interoperability in a live-fire integrated air and missile defense environment, using NATO command and control reporting structures.
