170912-N-AH771-0013 ATLANTIC OCEAN (Sept. 12, 2017) Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron (HMH) 461 conducts flight operations with CH-53E Super Stallion helicopters from the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) during humanitarian assistance efforts. The Department of Defense is supporting Federal Emergency Management Agency, the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Irma to minimize suffering and as one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
