170911-M-IZ659-063 CARIBBEAN SEA (Sept. 11, 2017) Marines and Sailors observe an MV-22 Osprey aircraft, equipment, and personnel from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (26th MEU) depart to be utilized in providing relief efforts in the U.S. Virgin Islands from aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) in the Caribbean Sea, Sept. 11, 2017. The DoD is supporting FEMA, the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Irma to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
