(Sept. 5, 2017) Chief Electronics Technician Matthew Goodwin, assigned to the Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarine USS Alabama (SSBN 731), is welcomed home to Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor by his family following the boat's routine strategic deterrent patrol. Alabama is one of eight ballistic-missile submarines stationed at the base providing the most survivable leg of the strategic deterrence triad for the United States.
