170901-N-KW492-174 ATLANTIC OCEAN (Sept. 1, 2017) The fleet replenishment oiler USNS John Lenthall (T-AO 189) manuevers alongside the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) during a replenishment-at-sea. Kearsarge is on-loading personnel, equipment and supplies in preparation to assist with disaster relief efforts in the Gulf Region. Hurricane Harvey formed in the Gulf of Mexico and made landfall in southeastern Texas, bringing record flooding and destruction to the area. U.S. military assets are supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency as well as state and local authorities in rescue and relief efforts.
