(Aug. 22, 2017) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Alejandro Lazo, assigned to the aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73), plans a CrossFit workout of the day at Huntington Hall in Newport News, Va. George Washington is undergoing a refueling and complex overhaul (RCOH) at Newport News Shipyard. RCOH is a four-year project performed only once during a carrier’s 50-year service life that includes refueling of the ship’s two nuclear reactors as well as significant repairs, upgrades and modernization.
