170818-N-ZL062-048 CORAL SEA (Aug. 18, 2017) Marines, vehicles and equipment from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (31st MEU) offload from Landing Craft Utility (LCU) 1651 in the well deck of the amphibious transport dock USS Green Bay (LPD 20). Green Bay is part of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG), which is participating in certification exercises (CERTEX) to increase joint capability to respond to a number of potential contingencies. CERTEX is conducted to evaluate the integration of all elements of the ESG by testing their combined ability to plan for and execute mission essential tasks.
