Jon Schaffer, commanding officer of the Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarine USS Tennessee (SSBN 734). Schiff is a member of the Naval ROTC program, studying electrical engineering at the University of Maryland. She is aboard Tennessee as part of her summer cruise training to learn about the Navy and help her choose a career path as a naval officer after she graduates.
