170809-N-EG687-092 PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 9, 2017) The guided-missile destroyer USS Halsey (DDG 97) transits the Pacific Ocean with the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group (CSG). The CSG is underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests a carrier strike group’s mission-readiness and ability to perform as an integrated unit through simulated real-world scenarios.
