170806-N-UM082-0067 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Aug. 6, 2017) Marines assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (24th MEU) unload cargo delivered by MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the "Chargers" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 26 on the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5). The ship and its amphibious ready group are deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
