170806-N-ME988-0119 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Aug. 6, 2017) An MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the Chargers of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 26 delivers retrograde from the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) to the fleet replenishment oiler USNS Kanawha (T-AO 196) during a vertical replenishment. Bataan and its amphibious ready group are deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
