170805-XN177-021 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Aug. 5, 2017) – The Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) minesweeper tender Uraga (MST 463) prepares to arrive pier-side at Fleet Activities (FLEACT) Yokosuka to participate in the annual Friendship Day celebration. More than 50,000 people participated in the open base event highlighting the friendship between the U.S. Navy and the host nation of Japan. FLEACT Yokosuka provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands, and 26,000 military and civilian personnel.
