Michael Garrick, commanding officer of Recruit Training Command (RTC), shares a laugh with Leonard Robinson, 90, during a reception following boot camp graduation at Recruit Training Command (RTC). Robinson graduated from boot camp in 1945 during World War II, when he was 17 years old. Four of his grandsons are in the military and one was Senior Chief Special Operator (SEAL) Heath Robinson, assigned to SEAL Team 6, who was killed in action Aug. 6, 2011 in Afghanistan after his helicopter was shot down, killing 30 American service members.
