Ashland is part of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG), which is in Cairns, Australia, to advance U.S. and Australian relations after participating in the bilateral training exercise Talisman Saber 2017. During the visit, Sailors and Marines participated in community relations projects and experienced the culture of the historic city.
