170725-N-VC599-078 NORFOLK (July 25, 2017) Sailors measure the distance of a javelin throw at a track and field competition during Surface Line Week (SLW). SLW is an annual competition hosted by the commander of Naval Surface Force Atlantic (CNSL) for all CNSL local, tenant commands. Each year, Sailors, Marines, and Department of the Navy civilian employees from the Hampton Roads area come together as a surface force to strengthen the warrior spirit within the community and along the waterfront.
