170719-N-ZL062-240 CORAL SEA (July 19, 2017) The amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) transits the Coral Sea during an amphibious assault with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (31st MEU) as a part of Talisman Saber 17. Talisman Saber is a biennial U.S. and Australia bilateral exercise held off the coast of Australia meant to achieve interoperability and strengthen the U.S. and Australia alliance.
