170715-N-BK384-161 PACIFIC OCEAN (July 15, 2017) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) Seaman Ryan Sharland, assigned to the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22), directs an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the “Wildcards” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 23 on the ship’s flight deck. San Diego is on a scheduled deployment with the America Amphibious Ready Group, which is comprised of more than 1,800 Sailors and 2,600 Marines assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), and San Diego.
