170714-M-RP664-0037 IWAKUNI, Japan (July 14, 2017) Japanese contractors with the 836th Transportation Battalion load a sonar rubber dome window onto the MS Manyoshi Maru at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Iwakuni. The Maru, a general cargo ship, is slated to deliver the sonar to Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan. MCAS Iwakuni is the only Marine Corps installation with a co-located airport and seaport, providing strategic capabilities to U.S. forces in the Indo-Asia Pacific region.
