170713-N-YG104-038 TOWNSHEND ISLAND, Australia (July 13, 2017) Marines assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (31st MEU) drive vehicles off a landing craft utility (LCU) vehicle, assigned to Naval Beach Unit (NBU) 7, as part of a large-scale amphibious assault during Talisman Saber 2017. The LCU, launched from the amphibious transport dock USS Green Bay (LPD 20), enabled movement of 31st MEU forces and equipment ashore in order for the MEU to complete mission objectives in tandem with Australian counterparts.
