170707-N-RC734-145 SAN DIEGO (July 7, 2017) Sailors and Marines assigned to the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22) and the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (15th MEU) man the rails asthe ship departs Naval Base San Diego for a deployment. San Diego is embarking on a scheduled deployment with the America Amphibious Ready Group, which is comprised of more than 1,800 Sailors and 2,600 Marines assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52) and San Diego.
