170615-N-UX013-1789 PHILIPPINE SEA (June 15, 2017) Marines assigned to the Amphibious Recon Platoon (ARP) of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (31st MEU) board an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the “Island Knights” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25 on the flight deck of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) during a visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) exercise. Ashland is part of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group, which is operating in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region to enhance partnerships and be a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
