170615-N-UX013-1403 PHILIPPINE SEA (June 15, 2017) Marines assigned to the Amphibious Recon Platoon (ARP) of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (31st MEU) set up communications with the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) during a visit, board, search and seizure exercise aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48). Ashland is part of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group, which is operating in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region to enhance partnerships and be a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
