170531-N-BD308-009 NORFOLK (May 31, 2017) Seaman Macy Triplett simulates helmsman watch on the bridge during a fast cruise aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1). A fast cruise consists of equipment tests, simulations, and scenarios which refresh and train Sailors for underway periods. Wasp is currently undergoing a planned incremental availability maintenance period at BAE Systems Naval Shipyard while making preparations for its upcoming homeport shift to Sasebo, Japan.
