170426-N-UB993-009 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (April 26, 2017) The dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Washington Chambers (T-AKE 11) conducts a vertical replenishment with the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) and the amphibious dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50). The Bataan and its amphibious ready group are deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
