(April 25, 2017) Naval Aircrewman Helicopter 1st Class Jon Frankel, a water survival instructor at Recruit Training Command (RTC), assists a recruit as he makes the required jump from the 10-foot tower during the 3rd class swim qualification at the USS Indianapolis pool. Recruits are required to pass the qualification in order to graduate from boot camp, which includes the platform jump, 50 meter swim and a 5-minute prone float.
