(April 25, 2017) Boatswain’s Mate 1st Class Francisco Carlos, a water survival instructor at the Recruit Training Command (RTC), assists recruits who are learning to swim at the USS Indianapolis pool. All recruits are required to pass the 3rd class swim qualification in order to graduate from boot camp. Approximately 38,000-40,000 recruits graduate annually from the RTC.
