170409-N-XT039-459 SEA OF JAPAN (April 9, 2017) Air department Sailors scrub the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) following an aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) countermeasure washdown. AFFF is a mixture of water and highly concentrated detergent used on the flight deck and hangar bay to smother fires.
