170407-N-UK248-0296 PACIFIC OCEAN (April 7, 2017) Sailors assigned to amphibious assault ship USS America's (LHA 6) Deck Department recover the ship's rigid hull inflatable boat following a personnel transfer from the America to littoral docking ship USS San Diego (LPD 22). America is currently underway with more than 1,000 Sailors and 1,600 Marines conducting Amphibious Squadron/Marine Expeditionary Unit Integration operations in preparation for the ship's maiden deployment later this year.
