170327-N-RM689-023 U.S. 7TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (March 27, 2017) The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) receives pallets from an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter, assigned to the "Black Knights" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 4, embarked aboard the Lewis and Clark-class dry cargo ship USNS Charles Drew (T-AKE 10) during a vertical replenishment-at-sea. The Carl Vinson Strike Group is on a regularly scheduled Western Pacific deployment as part of the U.S. Pacific Fleet-led initiative to extend the command and control functions of U.S. 3rd Fleet.
