170324-N-SD965-453 ROTA, Spain (March 24, 2017) Sailors assigned to the guided-missile destroyer USS Ross (DDG 71) and Naval Munitions Command, Detachment Rota, conduct crane operations to maneuver a simulated standard missile during an ordnance loading exercise. The exercise was designed to demonstrate the U.S. Navy's capability to load ordnance onto naval vessels in non-traditional locations, and is part of a series of expeditionary weapons loading events planned for the next year in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
