Meyer (DDG 108) transits behind the guided-missile destroyer USS Stethem (DDG 63) as the ships participate in surface maneuvers with several other U.S. and Republic of Korea Navy ships and submarines during exercise Foal Eagle 2017. The annual series of training events is designed to increase readiness to defend the Republic of Korea, protect the region, and maintain stability in the Korean Peninsula.
