170125-M-AS864-222 ATLANTIC OCEAN (Jan. 25, 2017) Marines assigned to India Company, 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment descend from the top of an elevator dock during a fast-roping exercise aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19). The ship is participating in a composite training unit exercise, a compilation of training scenarios designed to solidify unit cohesion and refine operational efficiency prior to their upcoming deployment as an integrated unit.
