170112-N-CW570-0082 PANAY, Philippines (Jan. 12, 2017) Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Peter Juchniewicz, assigned Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, demonstrates an arterial bleed with a water bottle to students and teachers at Camabugan Elementary School during a community outreach and basic first aid educational eventevent in Panay, Philippines. NMCB-5 is the forward deployed, the western Pacific NMCB, ready to support Major Combat Operations, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations. They provide general engineering and civil support to Navy, Marine Corps and joint operational forces. Homeported out of Port Hueneme, Calif., NMCB-5 has 14 detached sites deployed throughout the United States and the western Pacific area of operations.
